Mother asks for help to find missing teen

The family of a Carson City teen missing since Friday is asking for the public's help to bring their boy home.

"We love him. We would like him to come back," said a tearful Yer Her, mother of 17-year-old Carson High senior Lue Vang.

Lue was last seen about 7 a.m. Friday. His parents discovered him missing at 5 p.m. Friday. No one has reported seeing or hearing from him since.

Lue took with him a laptop and a few other items, said his mother. He also took a 1995 blue Honda Prelude with Nevada license plate 321VPP.

He does not have a cell phone with him since it broke two weeks ago and hadn't been replaced.

Her said Lue's little sister Trinity, 5, asks every day when her brother is coming home.

"She misses him. We all miss him," she said. "Nobody knows where his is. Nobody's heard from him. It's been too many days."

She said whatever prompted the teen to take off - possibly stress over his senior project - can be overcome.

"There is nothing that cannot be fixed. There are always other choices. If he doesn't finish (the project) this is not the end of the world. There are other options," she said.

Lue, an accomplished musician who is active in band and choir, stands 5-feet 9-inches tall and weighs 150 pounds. He has shoulder-length black hair, brown eyes and a light mustache.
