Couple admits luring three girls, face up to 15 years

A husband and wife pleaded guilty Monday to luring three teenage girls for sexual contact and face up to 15 years in prison at their sentencing July 11.

Angela Koontz Redmon, 26, and her husband, George Bradley Redmon, Jr., 34, originally were charged with three felony counts of luring a child.

In an agreement with the district attorney's office, the Gardnerville Ranchos suspects pleaded guilty to one count of luring a child with the complaint including the three victims.

According to the complaint, the crimes allegedly occurred from summer of 2009 through March of this year.

They are accused of attempting to persuade or lure the victims for sexual contact. The girls were under the age of 16 and at least 5 years younger than the suspects.

The couple was arrested on warrants in Lakeview, Ore., and extradited to Douglas County.

They are in Douglas County Jail on $25,000 bail each.

In exchange for his plea to the felony, misdemeanor charges against George Redmon of possession of marijuana and paraphernalia and driving without a Nevada license will be dismissed.

They also face fines of $10,000 each.

The Redmons are ineligible for probation unless they are certified at low risk to reoffend following a mandatory psycho-sexual evaluation.

Attorney Tod Young, who represents George Redmon, said he would be seeking probation for his client.

District Judge Michael Gibbons told the Redmons they will be on lifetime supervision by parole and probation and may be required to register as sex offenders.

Gibbons advised the couple that their convictions could be used against them if there is a custody issue involving their children who are six months and 18 months old.

"I tried to take all the charges - they told me I couldn't - so one of us could get out and be with our children," said a tearful Angela Redmon.

They admitted knowing the victims were under 16, and that the solicitation was for sexual contact.
