The lecture: Mr. Orlendo Jones' lecture on the "Delights of Drunkenness" was a new and original treatment of the theme. The Appeal commends the lecturer to the public as a man who can give them a temperance talk that will not bore anybody and instruct a good many.

Jalopy Party: Mrs. L.W. Little introduced her Carson friends to a "Jalopy" party which was a grand surprise. Her guests did not know in advance that when the hostess called for them they must go to the home of the hostess just as they were regardless of attire. Some guests were called from their beds and wore their night attire, hair curlers, bedroom slippers. Lack of hose were much in evidence.

J. R. Bigler left in a wagon drawn with hour horses for California where he will take up his permanent residence. (Lake Tahoe was originally named Lake Bigler in honor of California's third Gov. J. R. Bigler.)
