Marc Michael Bauman, 46, died mid-October in Chicago after a sudden, unexpected illness.

Marc was the son of Edith Bauman of Chicago and Sam Bauman of Carson City.

In the 1990s, Marc lived in Carson City and spent a lot of time in the region, working for Caesars in Stateline. He was an avid skier and enjoyed Squaw Valley and Northstar ski resorts, usually joining his father on the slopes.

Marc was an avid traveler, particularly while employed by the Four Seasons hotel chain in Chicago. He visited Cambodia, Portugal and Spain, among many other foreign nations.

Marc attended a university in Munich and was born in Naples, Italy, where his father was working as a journalist. His last employment, with American Airlines, allowed him to travel widely, including regular visits to Carson City.

Marc is survived by his mother, Edith; brother Nicolaus Gregory Bauman of Minneapolis; and many family members in the United States and Germany, where his ashes will be kept.
