Gov. Brian Sandoval has elevated the position of Nevada Indian Commission chairman to a Cabinet-level post in his administration.

He told the Intertribal Council of Nevada on Tuesday that Ted Quasula will serve as a member of the Cabinet along with his other top administrators. There are now 19 state agency heads, the lieutenant governor and a representative from the university system in the Cabinet.

"As chairman of the Nevada Indian Commission, Ted will bring a needed and important voice to my Cabinet," he said.

Quasula is a Henderson resident and member of the Hualapai Tribe of northern Arizona.
