Nothing says fall like a straw-stuffed scarecrow.
The Children's Museum of Northern Nevada is inviting children, both young and old, plus business folks and anyone who wants a scarecrow of their own, to come down to the museum for the annual Make a Scarecrow workshop from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today.
Volunteer Penny Holbrook will again be on hand to guide all comers in creating their perfect scarecrow.
Holbrook has ideas and a book of ideas for scarecrows for homes and offices, banks and bike shops.
Those interested in creating a scarecrow should bring old clothes, panty hose, scarves and hats. The museum will supply straw for stuffing.
The Make a Scarecrow workshop is free with admission to the museum or membership. Admission is $3 for children 2-13 years; $5 ages 14-adults; $4 seniors 55-plus, and free for toddlers 1 year and younger.
The museum is located at 813 N. Carson St. For more information, call 884-2226.
