Venus Jolley Marriage, 83, passed to the next life on April 14, 2012, in Carson City, Nevada. She was born in Springdale, Utah, October 1, 1928, to Nora Crawford Jolley and Donal Jones Jolley, the first park ranger for Zion National Park, where she spent her early years growing up with her sisters, Alta and Lorna, and brother Donal, inside Zion National Park. The family moved to Boulder City, Nevada in 1943, where Venus graduated High School and was active in softball and basketball. She then headed off to college at Utah State University and then transferred to the University of Nevada in Reno where she earned a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in Education.

After graduation, she accepted a position as a school teacher in Carson City. She taught school and was also involved in girls' physical education program there until she married Charles Marriage in 1952. She then later returned as a substitute teacher in Carson High School. She was very active in the Carson community belonging to a number of bowling leagues over the years and was an active member in the American Association of University Women during her teaching years.

Venus served tirelessly in many capacities within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of her life and this allowed her to share her love of music and played the piano and organ for many years for the church. Her legacy was service to others and will always be remembered by everyone for that service. Her unconditional love for her 'boys' and her family was evident by her selflessness and devotion to them and to all those she came in contact with. She will forever be remembered for her wit, honesty and humor and set a wonderful example for all to follow.

She is survived by her brother, Donal Jolley of Rimforest, California; sons, Dan Marriage of Reseda, California and Alan Marriage (Mary) of Carson City. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 'C' Hill Building on McKay Drive in Carson City. Interment will follow the service at Lone Mountain Cemetery, Carson City. Arrangements entrusted to Walton's Chapel of the Valley, Carson City. 775-882-4965
