Late Saturday night a woman clad in black, with a handkerchief tied over the lower part of her face like a black veil and carrying a heavy club, walked nervously by the Ormsby House. Several men followed the woman to see who would get the club. She peered into most of the saloons and eventually gave her followers the slip. She was bent on very serious business and the person she was looking for can congratulate himself on his escape.

Hard luck on owners. Pete Crow, Ollie Tennant and Hy Downs who are developing a mine west of this city are having some hard luck. Their best miner, named Whiskers, has disappeared. Now the cabin has burned down. The genial superintendent, Kelly, is camping in the tunnel. A new cabin is to be erected.
