Cindy Jones named assembly fiscal analyst

The Legislative Commission on Monday named Cindy Jones, deputy director of the Department of Administration, as assembly fiscal analyst.

Jones replaces Rick Combs, who was named director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau to replace retiring Lorne Malkiewich.

Jones has been in state service for more than 21 years, including seven years as administrator of the Employment Security Division, guiding that division through the worst recession and highest unemployment since the state began recording that data.

She moved to administration in 2011 after the close of the Legislature, which had created the second deputy's spot to manage the effects of consolidating different state agencies, which included hearings officers, purchasing, state library and archives and public works, among others.

The other top deputy position in administration is focused on fiscal and budget issues.
