Julia, sentenced to imprisonment in jail for 15 days for habitual drunkenness and disturbing the peace, is said by jail makers to be an accomplished lace maker. She is now engaged in that work and is turning out some beautiful material. If the woman would keep sober there is no reason why she could not earn large sums of money by lace making.

Yesterday the Carson boys were cleaned up by the Virginia City nine on the Comstock. It was a fast and good game with the result of 8-6. Jim Woodburry did a base stealing act in the ninth that was the feature of the day. While the home team was cleaned, the boys state it was worth the time.

The Nevada quota of bicycles for adults during September is 127, up from 80 in August. County quotas include eight for Elko, four for Nye, two for Humboldt, and four for Ormsby. The state has been awarded 117 new automobiles for September.
