Rove's commercial rant was filled with hate

I'm sure I'm not alone when I express my disgust at Karl Rove for whining about Clint Eastwood's positive message during the Super Bowl.

In the ad, Eastwood is praising the resilient, irrepressible American spirit and how we as a people bounce back from crisis. It was entitled, "Halftime in America," and showed images of the auto industry's collapse and recovery.

The nonpartisan ad was very positive and optimistic about America and its future. Leave it to a radical GOP fanatic to put it down and misinterpret it as a campaign ad for Obama.

No wonder the Republican party has suffered such low voter turnout lately. Who wants to enter that black hole of gloom and doom negativity? The party is so anxious to make Obama look bad that anyone even hinting about, or hoping for our country's financial recovery is insulted and ridiculed.

What a desperate show of hate. Take off the sheet, Karl, and get a life.

Immigrants make this country better

This country is like a salad bowl made up of different races, cultures and languages. Immigration has always been a controversial topic. I think some rules need to change.

For example, people who have lived their whole life in the Unites States should have some rights, like they shouldn't be deported because they have their children raised here. When a person is deported, they have to go back to their country of origin, and they go through a dramatic change. Also, their parents are not hurting anyone or causing any damage. They are just working to be prosperous and have a better life.

I understand that a lot of foreign people live in the Unites States so I agree that immigration has to put some requirements to give them this benefit. Check if the person is a good citizen. This way immigration and anyone can see if people are or are not causing any damage to the country.

If the people are good citizens it would give benefits to the economy of the country, because all of the taxation, bills and shopping that they do every single day. All of this money is a very important contribution to the economy of this country.

Can you imagine this country without all of these people? I can, and it would be very bad for the Unites States.

So take a minute and think if you want this to happen or do you want a better country?

City needs to recoup money from Cramer

If I understand this correctly, Mr. Cramer owes taxpayers $37,000. Before someone jumps on that and says it wasn't tax money but redevelopment funds, where do you think redevelopment funds come from? Ultimately, they come from taxpayer dollars.

In spite of how Shelly Aldean might feel regarding taking away a man's house, no one is taking away Mr. Cramer's house. He signed on to an agreement for a lien on his personal residence, and I think in the interest of fiduciary responsibility, the city supervisors should do just that.

If they do not take steps to recover my tax dollars, then this may be termed in the future as the Cramer Bailout.
