WINNEMUCCA - Dayton High's boys basketball team dropped its second consecutive Northern 3A game, losing a crossover game to Lowry, 57-43, Friday night.
Dayton won't have much time to get over the loss. The Dust Devils return to action today at Truckee.
Dayton coach Jason Santos said foul trouble once again hurt his team as Tyler Firestone and Dylan Taylor had to leave the floor a few times.
Dayton trailed by 15 at half, but whittled it down to four after three periods. However, poor execution and turnovers enabled Lowry to build its lead back up in the fourth quarter.
Taylor led Dayton with 13 points and Firestone added nine.

Lowry pounds Dayton
WINNEMUCCA - The Dayton girls basketball team lost at 3A power Lowry, 57-25.
Dayton had trouble breaking Lowry's press. The press forced the Dust Devils into many turnovers which led to easy Lowry points.
Maribel Ledezma led Dayton with 11 points.
Dayton (8-4 overall and 2-0) in league plays at Truckee today.
Lady Muckers win 8th
VIRGINIA CITY - Keana Prahl outscored the entire Sierra Lutheran team, 32-31, Friday night in the 1A league opener.
Tiffany Patrick led Sierra Lutheran with 13 points. Virginia City is 8-3 overall.

Dayton girls lose thriller
The Dayton JV girls basketball team dropped a 32-31 game at Lowry on Friday.
Dayton had a one-point lead in the final minute but wasn't able to build on the lead, as Lowry executed down the stretch.
Cheyanne Strong led the Dust Devils with 13 points. Taylor Ingersoll added seven points.
Dayton, 8-4, plays at Truckee today.
Carson boys win thriller
Three players reached double figures to lead the Senators to a 56-50 win over Wooster Friday in Carson.
Austin Shaffer led the way with 12 points, while Kyle Denning and Garrett Schafer added 10 each. Alan Cohen was next with seven.

Natali Salas scored 11 and Kayla Aikins added 10 to lead Carson to a 45-24 win over Wooster.

The Carson freshmen boys team cruised to a 63-42 win over Wooster Friday night.
Brett Paulson and Brandon Ruf each had 11 points while Erick Jacquez and Kyle Steele added 10.

The Carson girls basketball team improve to 10-3 on the year with an easy 51-15 win over Wooster on Friday.
Leading Carson were Michelle Perry with 11 points; Maddi Preston and Abbey Dudley with seven each.
