As a new feature of the Volunteer Connection, we will highlight one agency each week to give you a better idea of just what the organization does and how your volunteer time impacts their goals.
Our featured organization today is the Northern Nevada Railway Foundation which was founded in 1996 as a non-profit, 501(c)3 agency to raise funds to reconstruct the historical V&T Railroad.
The foundation has an office; however, they have no paid staff and count on volunteers exclusively to keep the office available for the public.
Volunteer work covers public relations, clerical duties, sales of railroad merchandise and greeting callers.
The V&T Railroad is the only historical railroad to ever be reconstructed anywhere in the world. Call Carol at 775-687-4680 ext. 6 for more information.
