Cowperthwaite named to dean's list

Kathryn L. Cowperthwaite, of Carson City has been named to the dean's list for the fall 2011 semester at the University of Vermont. Cowperthwaite is a sophomore English major in the College of Arts & Sciences.

To be named to the dean's lists, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.

Bryant named to dean's list

Kathleen Bryant, daughter of Christeen Allara of Carson City, was named to the first semester 2011-12 dean's list at Saint Mary's University of Minnesota.

The list includes 354 undergraduate students who earned a grade point average of 3.60 or better on a 4.0 scale.

The university has about 5,700 students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs in Winona, the Twin Cities, greater Minnesota, Wisc.

At Saint Mary's residential campus in Winona, the undergraduate curriculum combines traditional liberal arts and sciences with career preparation in a student-centered environment.
