The governor's office has ordered a contest to design the event logo for Nevada's upcoming 150th birthday.
On Oct. 31, Nevada will celebrate 150 years of statehood.
A spokesman said the theme of the event will be "Battle Born-Nevada Proud." She said all members of the public from professional and public relations experts to amateur artists are invited to join in the contest.
The planning committee formed by the governor has already begun laying plays for the celebration that starts on Nevada Day, Oct. 31, and lasts for a full year.
The logo contest will be conducted through a request for proposals online at https://sites.google.com/site/Nevada150th or by asking for a copy at lori.nelson@stationcasinos.com.
The artwork must include the line "Battle Born-Nevada Proud and be free of charge to the committee.
Final artwork should be print ready in an electronic jpg, eps or Illustrator file.
Further rules are contained in the request for proposals.
