Streets closed for Taste of Downtown

Taste of Downtown, a fundraiser for Advocates to End Domestic Violence, will run from 5:30 to 9 p.m. today, featuring 43 restaurants along 13 blocks through downtown Carson City.

In addition to the food and entertainment, participants also will be able to hop aboard trolleys that will travel from Spear Street to Carson Mall. Along the way, participants can browse more than 20 shops and galleries offering raffle and door prizes.

Sections of Curry Street will be closed from Third Street to Telegraph Square.

Purchase tickets at Classy Seconds, 411 Hot Springs Road; at the Convention and Visitors Bureau, 1900 S. Carson St.; or at Home Treasures, inside Carson Mall. Tickets can be charged by contacting Advocates to End Domestic Violence at 883-7654 and picked up at "will call." If there are remaining tickets on Saturday, they can be purchased at the Information Booth at City Hall, on the corner of Musser and Carson streets, starting at 10 a.m.
