Pilot dies after Navy jet crashes in Fallon

The pilot of a contracted tactical aircraft belonging to Airborne Tactical Advantage Co., died Tuesday morning when his plane reportedly crashed into a structure on the base's west end.

The pilot's name is being withheld pending notification of next to kin.

Firemen from NAS Fallon and Fallon/Churchill were on the scene.

This is the second crash in 10 days. A Navy F/A-18 Super Hornet crashed north of NAS Fallon on Feb. 24, but both pilots ejected safely.
