Carson City sheriff's officers located an 11-year-old Hispanic boy Saturday afternoon after he had been missing nearly 24 hours.

Officers spent most of the day Saturday searching for Angel Gomez.

They said the boy reportedly got on the bus Friday morning to go to school at Bordewich-Bray Elementary.

There were conflicting reports regarding whether he boarded the bus for home after school.

The boy's parents, who believed the boy was with a friend, became alarmed the next morning and reported him missing at about 8 a.m.

Sheriff Ken Furlong said officers, including Search and Rescue and reserves, scoured the neighborhood and followed up on leads all morning, but Angel was finally located at the home of a friend at about 1:45 p.m.
