Carson City
The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail over the weekend. All are innocent until proved guilty in court.
• Adam Haney, 22, of Carson City, was arrested about 9 p.m. Saturday and charged with felony possession of prescription pills. A deputy reported hearing what sounded like a domestic dispute near the Gold Dust West Casino while on an unrelated call. He investigated and found Haney and a female. While Haney was being patted down for weapons, he told the deputy he had pills in his pocket, according to the arrest report. The deputy reported finding four pills, none of which Haney had a prescription for. His bail was $2,500.
• Montana Hawley Rogers, 46, of San Jose, Calif., was arrested about 5 p.m. Sunday and charged with felony third-offense driving under the influence. He was reportedly found by a firefighter sitting unresponsive in the driver seat of a car near the intersection of Long and Russell streets. Rogers was on probation for DUI-related offenses in California, where his prior two charges originated, according to the arrest report. His bail was $10,000.
• Kimberly Kay Hale, a 42-year-old transient, was arrested about 7 p.m. Sunday and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor petit larceny. Hale and a 43-year-old transient woman were detained at the north-end Wal-Mart for allegedly shoplifting. Both were charged with petit larceny. The other woman was also on alternative sentencing and charged with violating the conditions of a suspended sentence, a misdemeanor, according to the arrest report. Methamphetamine was reportedly found in Hale's purse while she was being booked into the jail. Hale's bail was $2,750. The other woman's bail was $3,250.
• Joseph Thomas Wheatley, a 40-year-old transient, was arrested about 2 p.m. Thursday and charged with felony preventing/dissuading the report of a crime and the misdemeanors of domestic battery, violating a restraining order and violation of a suspended sentenced. The victim reported to police that she found Wheatley, her ex-husband, asleep in one of her closets, despite being prohibited from being in or near the residence. His bail was $10,000.
