Kristine Marie Miller
Barbarigos, 38, resident of Carson City was born to Norman and Earlene Beaver Miller in Oakland, Calif. on July 8, 1974, and died from an acute septic infection in Carson City on Nov. 5, 2012.
She grew up in Zephyr Cove, Nev., and graduated from George Whittell High School in 1992. Kris attended Lake Tahoe Community College where she served as Student Body President and graduated from Morrison College in Reno in 1997. She earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Nevada State College in 2011. She had worked in a clerical position at Nevada HOPES AIDS clinic in Reno and later was a full time mom for her babies before pursuing her teaching career. Kris was employed as a 4th grade teacher at Empire Elementary School, where she was passionate about her students and the school's devoted staff.
She was a devout Christian who loved her family and was dedicated to the parenting of her sons. She had resided in Reno and relocated to Carson City in April 2012. Kris married Michael Barbarigos in 1996, who has been employed in Afghanistan for the past four years. Kristine is survived by her loving husband, Michael; sons, Brett, Ryan and Reed of Carson City; parents, Norm and Earlene Miller of Carson City; sister, Suzanne Miller; brother in law ,Cantel McCurdy; nephew and niece, Tyler and Alexandria McCurdy of Las Vegas; brother, Matthew Miller of San Jose, Calif.; grandfather, Leroy Miller of Clearlake, Calif.; and aunts, Lori Bauer, of Sonora, Calif., Linda Beaver of San Leandro, Calif., and Gloria Mitchell, of Lake Oswego, Oregon. Her family and friends have been blessed by having Kris in their lives.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 110 Division Street, Carson City at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012.
