Dayton Valley Days was the largest and best yetDayton Valley Days Committee wants to thank all of the volunteers and vendors who worked so hard to make Dayton Valley Days the largest and the best two-day event in Lyon County. We want to give a special thanks to Sophia Renken, our Grand Marshals John and Donna Alexander, Bob and Nadine Hastings, Dan McLaughlin of the Mason Valley Dayton Unit Boys and Girls Club for their help and support and to Eagle Valley Golf Course for the use of their golf carts. It was the biggest yet. Special thanks to the Community of Dayton and surrounding areas for your support. This year was the biggest and best ever. Next year will be even better. Dayton Valley Days CommitteeDaytonThank you to dentists for work for veteransHats off to the wonderful dentist staff of doctors Homes, Mannikko, and Beglin who selflessly helped so many veterans in getting free dental work. How impressive was that. Also what a great idea of the Eagle Valley Christian School making a Thanksgiving lunch for 20 seniors. How neat that you do such kindness (make crafts and sing) all year for those seniors. That is a great idea for the Boys and Girls Club to walk over to their local assisted living place and sing Christmas carols and make homemade Christmas cards for those lonely seniors that don’t have family around. It doesn’t cost anything and it is literally in the back yard of the club. God Bless the Veterans and the ones that honor them, and God bless the young children that bring happiness to seniors. Now that is paying it forward.Sunni Enciso HeinrichsCarson CityThank you to Halloween Party sponsorsOn Oct. 31 the Division of Child and Family Services hosted its 11th Annual Halloween Party for our foster children in care. We had approved a certain level of repair at an agreed-upon price. Cress Manufacturing, after seeing the condition of the kiln, repaired things that were above and beyond what was contracted for, yet maintained the original budget. This action saved Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club several hundred dollars.
