Train time again this weekend at railroad museum

The Nevada State Railroad Museum is bringing out the 1905 Baldwin Steam Locomotive No. 25 for rides this weekend in a “Steam Up” event celebrating the railroad heritage of Northern Nevada.The steam locomotive No. 25 is used only a few times each year for special occasions to pull the historic Virginia &Truckee Railway cars and give passengers an opportunity to enjoy a recap of 19th century travel.Visitors also can check out the collection of rail equipment, artifacts and other exhibits in the museum, which is open Fridays through Mondays in Carson City.Museum admission is $6 for adults, free for those 17 or younger. Train rides cost $6 for those 12 and older, $3 for children 4-11 and are free for those three or younger. Pulled by old No. 25, passengers will ride in the V&T train either Saturday or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with departures scheduled every 40 minutes.
