Youth Theatre Carson City plans a rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at 700 N. Richmond Ave., at the corner of Washington Street and Richmond.

The YTCC group operates as part of the Carson City Recreation Department, primarily at the city's Community Center.

In addition, the group said it will hold auditions for "Aladdin and His Wonderful, Magical Lamp" later this month. The show is an adaptation from the classic tale.

The audition, open to all children ages 5-18, is set for 10 a.m. on Sept. 29 in the Sierra Room at the community center, 851 E. William St. Those auditioning should prepare a one-minute song and be prepared to handle movement and dance.

The show will be next year on the weekend of Jan. 11-13 in the Bob Boldrick Theatre at the center, but will repeat at Piper's Opera House in Virginia City on Jan. 18.

The group held a fundraiser Friday night that featured a host of young actors, singers, dancers, acrobats, magicians and comedians.

The YTCC group is a new theatre company aimed at providing a safe and inclusive environment for youth and their families to explore theatrical experiences. It is headed by Andie Anderson.
