RENO - Carson High's volleyball team moved one step closer to a .500 record with a four-set win over Wooster Tuesday night in a Sierra League match.

Carson won 25-18, lost 18-25, and then won 25-16 and 26-24.

"The girls did enough to win," coach Robert Maw said. "Wooster came right at us. This is one of the best Wooster teams I've seen in eight or nine years."

Maw had a lot of praise for junior Savannah Smith, who filled in for Brooklyn Maw, who will be out 6-to-8 weeks with a shoulder injury suffered in the Senators' last match.

"Savannah played very well," Maw said. "She played there a little last year. She gets to a lot of balls."

Smith had 22 dig attempts and was successful 21 times. Kaitlyn Jimmy and Kammy Forrest played well at the net with five and 3.5 kills, blocks, respectively. Courtney Hack had 22 assists, 2.5 blocks and four kills. Kenzie Price had four digs, four kills, two blocks and 11 assists. Juliana Anderson led CHS with nine kills and Danielle Good added eight.
