Churchill County Commissioners will hold their first regularly scheduled meeting of April on Thursday at 8:15 a.m. at the county administration building chambers, 155 N. Taylor St.
Commissioners will discuss or take action on the following items:
Hear a presentation on the benefits western counties and states can gain from increased control of natural resources and the transfer of public lands to the states. A request to join the American Lands Council may also be considered.
Hear an update from University of Nevada, Reno President Marc Johnson on the College of Agriculture and Cooperative Extension.
Consider acceptance of FTA 5311 Grant for Operations and Vehicle Agreement for the purchase of a new Churchill Area Regional Transport (CART) bus, if funds are available.
Hear an update from Maurice Washington on the Northern Nevada Development Authority (NNDA).
Consider approval of a conceptual plan for River Park at Scheckler Cutoff.
Consider ratification of bargaining agreement between the county and Churchill County Dispatchers’ Union.
A public hearing on an appeal by Roger Baylocq of the Churchill County Administrative Hearing Officer’s decision.
Consider a change of date of the county commissioners’ first regularly scheduled meeting of July. The proposed date is July 11 from July 4 due to the Independence Day holiday.
Consider Nye County’s review and comment of the December 2012 Nevada Commission on Nuclear Project Report and Recommendations.
Consider an agreement between Churchill County and the University of Nevada for a health and wellness program.
Consider comments on the Draft Environmental Assessment for proposed addition of training activities and range enhancements at Naval Air Station Fallon on Training Range Bravo-16.
Approval to submit the county’s comments to the Assembly Committee on Commerce and Labor regarding Assembly Bill 239.
Approve Resolution 09-2013 recognizing Jeff Lockwood for his service and dedication to the Fallon Golf Course.
