Fallon’s bats swayed to the hit machine Saturday by pounding out 40 runs to sweep Silver Stage in a Lahontan League baseball doubleheader at the Edward Arciniega Athletic Complex.

While Fallon punished Nighthawk pitching in the first game, 36-3, the Greenwave rallied from a 3-1 deficit to surge ahead for a 10-run win (13-3) in a game also called by the 10-run mercy rule.

Fallon took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of the second game before Silver Stage manufactured three runs in the top of the second inning with two runs coming from an RBI triple.

Dalton Johnson sliced the lead to 3-2 after smashing a screaming line drive into the right field corner. After a base on balls to the next batter and then an infield hit, Sage Mori gave Fallon a 4-3 lead with a two-run single.

Starting pitcher Morgan Dirickson helped his own cause with an RBI single that gave Fallon an extra run going into the top of the fourth where the Nighthawks retired quietly.

Fallon, though, broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth inning with 10 runs. Cody Long delivered a key two-run single

Tristan Salazar enjoyed the run support from his Greenwave teammates in the first game.

Fallon scored six runs in the first inning on Dalton Frank’s two-run triple, and Mori also knocked in a pair of runs with a double. Frank had an RBI in a 20-run second inning, while Long drove two home with a single.

Errant pitching and errors opened the floodgates for the Greenwave offense in both the second and third innings. Ryan Merkley and Dylan Tedford each batted in a run in the second, while Joe Pyle, Tedford, Tyler Bagby, Riley Williams and Chase McElvain each drove in runs in the third.

Jesse Harper’s two-run double put the Nighthawks in the scoring column in the top of the fourth inning. Silver Springs scored another run on a wild pitch.
