An 18-year-old Carson City man pleaded guilty Monday morning in district court to two counts for destroying school, church, house and car windows during the late night and morning March 9-10.
Levi Minor was arrested on suspicion of 10 counts of destruction of property, a gross misdemeanor, and one felony count destruction of property, $5,000 or more. He pleaded guilty to two counts of malicious destruction of property, $250 to $5,000, a gross misdemeanor.
An anonymous tip led deputies to Minor and his 16-year-old alleged accomplice. Minor told deputies at the time that he shot and destroyed the windows with a BB gun because “the city was wasting money on the schools and decorations of the freeway instead of expanding the skate park,” according to the arrest report.
As part of the plea agreement, Minor will pay restitution to all those with broken windows. All other charges will be dropped. Minor pleaded guilty on the first count to destroying windows at Carson Middle School and a church and to destroying house and car windows on the second count. Both charges carry a penalty of up to a year in prison and a $2,000 fine.
Minor’s sentencing is set for June 3. The identity of the minor has not been released.
