The Oasis Bighorns fell, 8-6, to Northwest Reno on Saturday in a preseason lacrosse game at the Churchill County Regional Fields.

Oasis led 5-3 after the third quarter thanks to two goals by Walter Rooks and scores from Zane Davis, Josh Carter and Nick Delgado.

Reno, though, stormed back with four quick goals to take the lead 7-5. Trent Thorn answered with another unassisted goal off his faceoff win, but Reno got the insurance goal and it was too much for the Bighorns to overcome.

Newcomer Morgan McAlexander is quickly turning into a defensive star for the Bighorns with his tenacious play. Mason Wagner continued to lead the Bighorns in assists.

Oasis dominated the faceoffs with its trio of top midfielders including Trent Thorn, Fearghus Keitz and Nate Keener.

The Bighorns visit Bishop Manogue on Saturday for the High Sierra Youth Lacrosse League Jamboree.
