Senior club is grateful for Sertoma Club’s aid
The Young At Heart Senior Citizens Club and especially the seniors who participate in the nutrition program at the Douglas County Senior Center would like to thank the Sertoma Club for their generous gift of $5,200 to be used entirely for the Hot Soup Program. These funds were primarily raised through the Sertoma Crab and Tri Tip Feed on Feb. 9.
This program serves approximately 100 bowls of hot soup at the Douglas County Senior Center prior to each lunch on week days. The hot soup is not only an essential element of the senior nutrition program but also provides a venue for seniors to socialize before the noon meal. As a result of this donation, the Senior Center will be able to continue this program though 2013. The Hot Soup Program is entirely funded by donations like this one from the Sertoma Club.

Thank you to Dayton Valley Turf for work
As of April 5, the Dayton Valley Dog Park has new sod in the main park area. The main gates will be locked, but please note that you may still bring your dogs and use the desert trails in the large dog area and the small dog park located over by the children’s park.
We would like to thank Dayton Valley Turf for all their hard work, expertise and continued support at the dog park, plus the Lions Club for their large donation toward this project, which made it possible.
However, further donations are welcome for upkeep and water bills. Donations can be mailed to DVDP, P.O. Box 995, Dayton, NV 89403 or sent to any US Bank.
We expect to have the park back to your dogs in three or four weeks. We all have to be patient if we want our beautiful park up and running this summer. Thanks for all your understanding.
