If you have one of those bumper stickers that says “Rush is right,” you need to think again or add the word never just before right.
Rush Limbaugh is seldom, if ever, right. He is rude, nasty, a liar, a law-breaking chauvinist pig and an ugly excuse for a human being. Limbaugh reminds me of an old saying, “I think God gets the worst of it when we say he made men.”
How on earth have the Republicans allowed Limbaugh, who sometimes just outright lies, to become the voice of their party. He is the darling of the Tea Party; That‘s why.
“We’re not sexists, we’re chauvinists —we’re chauvinist pigs, and we’re happy to be because we think that’s what men we’re destined to be. We think that’s what women want.” — Rush Limbaugh
Here’s more of Limbaugh; “Now how can I be anti-woman? I even judged the Miss America Pageant.” “ Women should not be allowed on juries where the accused is a stud.” To a Female African American caller; “Take that bone out of your nose and call me back.” “Feminism was established so as to allow unattractive women access to the mainstream of society.” Cute, huh?
On sexual harassment he said this; “They’re (women) out there protesting what they actually wish would happen to them sometime.”
You should remember when he called a Georgetown student, Sandra Fluke, a “slut” for wanting contraception for students to be paid for by insurance. After attacking her for three days he apologized saying it wasn’t meant to be a personal attack. Incredible! He then suggested he would buy every Georgetown female student a bottle of aspirin, she could then place an aspirin between her knees and hold it there to prevent pregnancy. Hardly original.
That should convince you of Limbaugh’s absolute stupidity when it comes to women, If not, this should. On his show in late Jan. Limbaugh said, “So what we do — we create, we call it the All American First Cavalry Amazon Battalion, and we segregate women enough in various bases, barracks so that you have synchronized menstrual cycles timed in such a way so that on any day of the year you are guaranteed to have a fighting female force all in PMS — all during premenstrual syndrome. You can do it because they synchronize the cycles.”
If you think that’s funny, you need to be examined by the local shrink. Limbaugh has never shown the slightest bit of knowledge or understanding of women. To continue the age old depiction of women in their menstrual cycles as being hell on wheels is just outrageous. PMS can be a painfully sick experience and incapacitating. God how I wish men had menstrual cycles. I take that back.
Also in January, Limbaugh, talking about proponents of responsible gun safety laws said, “They’re good people, they’d never use a gun to kill kids. They use abortion for that.” He went on to suggest that we could stop abortions by requiring that the fetus be shot as a means of abortion. Since the liberals are against guns, they would have to be against abortion, he surmised. He and others always misrepresent a liberal’s support of a woman’s right to choose to mean they support abortion. Many pro-choice women would never themselves have an abortion. That’s something he will never comprehend. It is way over his head, even when it is clear of narcotics, which appears to be infrequent.
Recently when President Obama suggested Republicans should not be swayed by Limbaugh and the far-right media from working with the Democrats to accomplish immigration reform and meaningful gun legislation, Limbaugh said asking people to ignore him is abridging the freedom of speech and is therefore a violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution! That’s pure convoluted horse manure.
In December 2012, he said. “Let the unskilled jobs that take absolutely no knowledge whatsoever to do--let stupid and unskilled Mexicans do that work.” And the Republicans wonder why 70 percent of Hispanics voted for Obama.
He is now at odds with non other than Bill O’Reilly. O’Reilly seems to have seen the light after the election and is now calling for compromise on gun legislation, a path to citizenship for some illegal immigrants and same sex marriage. He seems to realize the Republican party is doomed if it doesn’t become more moderate.
On Feb. 21, Limbaugh said, “I am ashamed of my country.” In 2008 he pitched a fit when Michele Obama said, “For the first time in my life, I’m proud of my country.”
