RENO — The Reno Aces snapped a seven-game losing skid Tuesday night, with a 5-2 victory over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox at Aces Ballpark.

Chase Anderson helped his cause with a leadoff double in the bottom of the third inning to collect his first career hit. Taylor Harbin followed with a double of his own to score Anderson, and give the Aces an early 1-0 lead. Reno went on to add three more runs in the inning off a trio of errors by the Sky Sox.

Matt Davidson’s leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth tacked on another run to the Aces lead.

Anderson walked Charlie Blackmon, and then gave up a double to Nolan Arenado, as the Sky Sox jumped on the board for the first time in the top of the seventh. Colorado Springs added another run after the entrance of reliever Joe Paterson, but the threat stopped there.

Taylor Harbin went 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored for Reno.

Anderson dealt a quality start and earned his first win of the season. He gave up two earned runs on just three hits, while striking out seven.

Reno reliever Matt Gorgen, who pitched a scoreless eighth inning, was credited with a hold. Will Harris, who threw a perfect ninth to close out the game, earned his first save of the season.

Christian Friedrich was charged with the loss. He gave up four runs on three hits through 2.1 innings.

The Aces will face the Sky Sox in game two of the series today. Charles Brewer (0-1, 6.75 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while Colorado Springs will counter with Tyler Chatwood (1-0, 2.53 ERA). First pitch is set for 1:05 p.m. Today marks the first Dollar Wednesday, with $1 hot dogs throughout the game.
