A unique 12-week program will be offered at no cost to women who have recently received treatment for breast cancer. A Time to Heal is a rehabilitation program that assists women with regaining their physical, emotional and spiritual health.

The program begins Aug. 28 at 5:30 p.m. Registration is free and information can be obtained by calling 775-770-7414.

“Survivorship is a part of the cancer journey at Saint Mary’s and this program offers women the ability to activate their life after cancer,” said Dolores Cooler, social worker at Saint Mary’s Center for Cancer. “Our goal is to give women the tool they need to be healthy and provide them with an outlet to heal.”

A Time to Heal is offered to women who have completed surgery and chemotherapy and/or radiation for a first diagnosis of breast cancer. Participants meet weekly to discuss topics such as nutrition, relationships, coping, regaining strength, spirituality, femininity and happiness. The multi-week program is lead by a team of certified oncology nurses and therapists who utilize healing techniques customized for each participant.

The next course will be offered every Wednesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. All classes are held at Saint Mary’s Center for Health at 645 N. Arlington Ave., Suite 120, in Reno.
