A 19-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday night on suspicion of attempted robbery.

According to the Carson City Sheriff’s Office:

A deputy responded to Fairview and Pheasant drives on a report of an attempted robbery at 10:12 p.m. Dispatchers said the suspect earlier had chased the alleged victim from the 3500 block of Woodside Drive to the 3900 block of Village Drive and demanded he “empty his pockets.”

The deputy arrested Edy Martinez-Ramirez, also known as “Spooky,” who had tried to run across the street to escape but was stopped by traffic. The deputy then spoke with the alleged victim, who said he’d been at a friend’s house and Martinez-Ramirez, whom he didn’t know, also was there. He said that as he left the apartment, Martinez-Ramirez came up behind him, yelled at him and chased him.

Martinez-Ramirez allegedly had a blood-alcohol level of 0.057 and also was arrested on suspicion of minor consuming alcohol. Bail was set at $25,000 on the felony attempted-robbery count.
