A Silver Springs man was killed in a Sunday morning auto accident in Silver Springs, reports the Nevada Highway Patrol.
Jay R. Williams, 68, died at the scene when his vehicle and a Dodge pickup collided at Fir Avenue and U.S. Highway 95A, four miles south of U.S. Highway 50.
The NHP said its preliminary investigation details indicate a green Dodge Stratus driven by Williams was eastbound and had stopped at Fir Avenue and 95A preparing to cross the highway. The NHP said a gray Dodge pickup driven by James A. Talbot, 53, of Silver Springs was traveling southbound on the highway approaching Fir Ave when Williams pulled out in front of him.
According to the NHP report, Talbot tried to avoid the collision but struck the sedan’s left side with its front, pushing the sedan off the roadway which came to rest on the southeast corner of the intersection. The Dodge pickup also went off the roadway and came to rest on the same corner.
Talbot was treated on scene for nonlife-threatening injuries and was released.
The M.A.I.T investigator handling the accident investigation is trying to identify a vehicle and its occupants who may have witnessed the accident.
