Former Assemblywoman April Mastroluca has been named executive director of the Nevada Conservation League and the organization’s education fund.

Mastroluca’s appointment was announced by the group Wednesday.

The Henderson Democrat was elected to the Assembly in 2008 and served during the 2009 and 2011 legislative sessions. She was re-elected to a third term last year but resigned a few weeks later, citing family reasons.

The Nevada Conservation League says Mastroluca’s professional experience with nonprofit groups and her voting record on environmental issues makes her the ideal person to lead its organizations.
