It’s that exciting time of year with the holidays upon us.

The Nevada Highway Patrol wants everyone to have a wonderful and safe holiday season. If you are gathering with family and friends and plan to drink alcoholic beverages, we want you to have a designated driver or call a cab. Just make other arraignments not to drive after drinking any amount of alcoholic beverage.

Please have a plan before you head out to make proper and sound decisions. NHP will have extra patrols out looking for impaired drivers. Let’s keep our roadways safe and strive for our goal of “Zero Fatalities.”

Roads will be busy with holiday travelers. Be prepared for winter driving. Keep your speed down. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to get to your destination safely. Ensure you are well rested before a long road trip. If possible share driving with other drivers that are traveling with you. Take breaks if you need a rest.

Remember to be patient and courteous when driving and make our highways safe for all of us to travel on.
