Two San Jose residents were arrested Thursday in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue in Carson City on multiple felony drug counts.
According to their arrest reports:
A deputy saw a car being driven without headlights about 11:15 p.m. and pulled the car over. The driver, Albert Eugene Carlson, 35, said his license was suspended and that he had no insurance. His passenger, Tarica Diane Lopez, 26, said the car was hers and that she had no insurance, either. A dispatcher told the deputy that the car’s registration had been expired since 2011.
A K9 unit searched from the car’s exterior and directed deputies to the engine compartment and interior. One of the deputies opened the hood and saw a bag containing what appeared to be methamphetamine, several sandwich bags containing what appeared to be mushrooms, a small bag of what appeared to be heroin, two glass pipes and a digital scale. He then found a bag containing what appeared to be marijuana.
Carlson was arrested on suspicion of felony drug trafficking, two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, expired license plate, driving with an expired license and no proof of insurance. Total bail was set at $32,750.
Lopez was arrested on suspicion of felony drug trafficking, two counts of felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. Total bail was set at $32,600.
Both remained at the Carson City Jail on Friday afternoon.
