Thank you for a great pet-shelter fundraiser On Feb. 8, Carson Animal Services Initiative hosted the “Love Our Pets! Wine Tasting” at the Governor’s Mansion. What a successful event it was! It is obvious that there is a huge desire for a new city shelter and bigger than the desire is the need. Thank you to all who attended our function. Your donations bring us a little closer to the reality of a new shelter. I would like to give a special thanks to our sheriff, Kenny Furlong. When I asked if he would MC the event, he immediately said yes and took it from there. Thank you sheriff for bringing in an extra $1,500 through your passionate pleas!Thank you Ronni Hannaman, director of the Chamber of Commerce.
