A 20-year-old Carson City man allegedly forcefully stole a car and crashed it before running about half a mile naked through the snow and onto U.S. Highway 50 East near Airport Road early Sunday morning.
A deputy, parked at the intersection of Highway 50 and Airport Road, saw Alex Anguiano in the middle of the road and turned on his emergency lights. Anguiano allegedly charged the deputy's patrol vehicle, screaming, "take me to God," according to the arrest report.
The deputy handcuffed the naked Anguiano and called paramedics to evaluate him, around 6 a.m. Despite the outside 15-degree temperature, Anguiano told the deputy, "I'm burning up."
The victim identified Anguiano as the man who allegedly attacked him and forcefully took the keys to his white Ford Bronco and drove off, according to the arrest report.
The path Anguiano made in the snow from Airport Road and Thurman Circle to Highway 50, was highly visible in the fresh snow. The man allegedly crashed the white Ford Bronco into a fence and shrubbery at Thurman Circle.
Anguiano was taken to the hospital, cleared, and taken to the Carson City jail on charges of robbery, grand larceny of a motor vehicle, DUI alcohol and/or drugs and hit and run property damage. Bail was set at $66,500.
