Webinars and workshops in January are planned by the Nevada Arts Council to help artists, non-profit organizations, educators and public institutions compete for grants.The series of free grant webinars and workshops, called “Gaining the Competitive Edge,” is designed for both novice and experienced grant writers. It will focus on creating competitive grant applications.The arts council offers a number of different grant categories for the prospective participants who support arts and cultural programs in Nevada.Online informational webinars are scheduled, one for 10 a.m. on Jan. 9 to help people navigate the agency’s trademarked Grants Online (GO) system. It will focus on the budget and narrative sections.On Jan. 10, beginning at the same mid-morning hour, a webinar will focus on developing and uploading application support materials. Each day’s four-hour webinar ends at 2 p.m.Workshops are scheduled all over Nevada. At 2 p.m. on Jan. 15, in the Western Nevada College CED building, Room 331 at Carson City’s campus, there will be one onsite workshop.Reno workshops are at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Jan. 25 at Truckee Meadows Community College at 5270 Neil Road in Room 123. Other workshops include one in Elko on Jan. 17; two in Las Vegas, both in the morning and afternoon on Jan. 23, and another on that same afternoon in Henderson.
