Carson man shot, brother in custody

A Carson City man was arrested Thursday night after he allegedly shot his brother in the chest.James Jeremy Painter, 20, was taken into custody in connection with the incident. The name of the victim has not been confirmed, Sheriff Ken Furlong said.The sheriff’s office responded to a call around 8:30 p.m. but stayed outside the Carson Colony until their assistance was requested by Washoe Tribal Police.“The arrest went down without incident,” Furlong said.The FBI responded to the incident and took custody of the alleged suspect Friday morning. The victim’s condition is unknown at this time. The victim was transported by ambulance to Reno because Care Flight was unable to fly in the inclement conditions.
