The Churchill County 4-H Hot Wings Poultry Club recently competed at the Carson City/Storey County Community Poultry Show for Youth at the Carson City Fairgrounds’ Fuji Park Exhibit Hall.
Nicole Nelson won first-place in pee wee showmanship, reserve champion in the quality competition for her bantam rooster and for her bantam hen and first-place ribbons for all her birds, first-place in the chicken races and first-place in the chicken costume contest.
Bob Behimer won in the quality competition reserve champion of show, champion for his large fowl and large pullet and first-place ribbons for all his birds. He also competed in pee wee showmanship.
Julia Wideman won first-place in junior showmanship and first-place in the photo contest.
Abbey Pike was champion in the quality competition for her large fowl, first-place in the largest egg contest and second-place in junior showmanship.
Nick Behimer won in the quality competition reserve champion for his pullet and first-place ribbons for all his birds. He also placed second in novice showmanship.
