The Silver City Volunteer Fire Department will celebrate its 150th anniversary from 2-10 p.m. July 27 with a fireman’s ball.
The ball will take place at the park in Silver City.
The volunteer fire department in Silver City was established in 1863, during the era of the great Comstock Lode. The once-sprawling city was rich in silver ore and boasted a population of more than 1,200.
Live music starts at 2 p.m., with Whitney Myer headlining the show around 8.
The event is free.
