Rep. Steven Horsford has returned to Southern Nevada where he will continue his recuperation from six-way cardiac bypass surgery.
Nevada’s newest member of Congress representing the 4th Congressional District underwent surgery July 1 at a hospital in Virginia after doctor’s discovered an undetected hereditary condition. He was released from the hospital July 5.
On Friday his post-surgery cardiac care was transferred from Inova Heart and Vascular Institute in Fairfax, Va., to physicians in Las Vegas, who will oversee his recovery.
In a statement, the Las Vegas Democrat says he expects to be back at 100 percent “real soon.”
He also says the experience has toughened his resolve to advocate for affordable health care.
