Reno Aces third baseman Matt Davidson was named the Most Valuable Player of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game held at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets, on Sunday afternoon.

The slugger blasted a two-run home run off Athletics’ right hander Michael Ynoa in the fourth inning to propel the U.S. team to a 3-2 advantage over the World Team. Team USA tacked on an insurance run in the eighth for a 4-2 win, the squad’s fourth-straight Futures Game victory.

Aces shortstop Chris Owings also saw some time in the game, going 0-for-2 but making an excellent over the shoulder catch on a pop out.

Davidson will participate in the 2013 IGT Home Run Derby, which will be held at Aces Ballpark today. The event begins at 7:05 p.m., with gates opening at 5:30 to accommodate large crowds and to provide pre-game entertainment.

Davidson and Owings will be in the starting lineup for the Pacific Coast League squad in the 2013 Dolan Auto Group Triple-A All-Star Game on Wednesday night, with first pitch slated for 6:05 p.m.

Limited tickets are still available for each event, at the Reno Aces Box Office, by phone at (775) 334-7000 or online at RenoAces.com.
