A city-wide program to encourage residents to stay in Fallon and shop locally kicked off at the beginning of the month.
As with the previous marketing campaign to Check Fallon First for spending your money, this newest venture of Live Local Fallon gives participants rewards for supporting the local economy.
The promotion encourages residents to enhance Fallon’s economy by collecting 22 passport stamps in order to be eligible for monthly drawings. Passport holders are encouraged to eat at a local restaurant, shop, attend a community event or volunteer.
According to Live Local Fallon’s campaign, the ‘Eat Local’ program will reap the benefits of having residents dine at the local restaurants that showcase Fallon’s treasured food heritage. So far, the participating restaurants include the Courtyard Café, Depot Casino, Jack’s Place, Jerry’s, Julio’s, La Fiesta, Main St. Café, Overland, Pizza Barn, Stockman’s Café, The Slanted Porch and The Wok.
The program’s Shop Local encourages residents to patronize the various businesses such as Big R, Cobble Stone Corner, E. H. Hursh, Evan Motorsports and Repair, Fallon Auto Mall, J&K Llamas, Kent’s Supply, Lattin Farms, Louie’s Home Center, Tedford Tires & Auto Service, Too Cute Totes and Workman Farms.
Under Play Local, passport holders will receive stamps for attending local entertainment and recreation programs. Participants have a wide array of events or places to visit including the Bonanza Casino, Churchill Arts Council, Churchill County Museum, Comfort Inn, Fallon Golf Course, Holiday Inn Express, Kaia F.I.T., Speedway, Stockman’s Casino and The Nugget.
The final category includes Volunteer Local. This category pairs organizations or events who needed extra help.
The Live Local Fallon campaign also encourages businesses who are not participating to sign up. Like its predecessors, Live Local Fallon is a good program to keep residents home and enjoy the finer things in life that Fallon and Churchill County offer.
