A local couple with a hair salon and body-piercing business combination has purchased a north Carson City building to expand operations, adding a spa and wellness center.

Perry and Starr Nixdorf said they bought the formerly bank-owned property at 3430 Executive Pointe Way just south of East College Parkway, not far from Lompa Lane. They plan to move their existing firms and expand with spa/wellness offerings for clients.

The professional office building, which was built in 2000 as a physical therapy location, includes 7,266 square feet of space into which Hair Studio & Spear Me, now at 198 W. Winnie Lane, can move. That will come after some remodeling, said Starr Nixdorf. The new business combination will be called Paradise Salon-Spa-Wellness, she said.

“We’re taking what we have right now and adding a wellness studio to it,” she said. She added that the couple expects that the build-out to accommodate their new and old business operations will take three or four months.

Nixdorf said the Hair Studio part of the business has been in Carson City for three decades. But the expansion looks to the future as the hair studio keeps the venture rooted in the company’s legacy in the northern part of Carson City, she said.

“It will be the only salon/spa in the area to provide private and semi-private suites,” Nixdorf said.

She also said the new building features a large therapy pool and hot tub to provide aqua-exercise opportunities and therapy for people with mobility limitations, plus an infrared sauna for anyone with such needs.

“Other services available include nail services, massage, facials, private personal training, a juice bar and a relaxation zone,” Nixdorf said. Space also is available for retail sales of items that dovetail with the business services offered, she said.
