The next Restore Our College Campus Committee (ROCCC) meeting is scheduled for Monday at 7 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 55 W. Williams Ave.
The group will also discuss strategies for being part of the selection process for WNC’s new president. Dr. Carol Lucey recently announced her decision to step down as president.
ROCCC organized in early 2012 with the objective of finding solutions to help restore the Western Nevada College Fallon Campus “to be a vibrant, contributing member of our economic development team by providing occupational and academic courses, degrees and programs needed by our community.”
Western Nevada Community College (renamed Western Nevada College in 2007), opened its doors in 1971 and included classes offered in Fallon and Churchill County, according to the ROCCC website. The Fallon Campus was established in 1981 when its first building (Sage Hall) was constructed on 12 acres the college leased from Churchill County.
