Coral LLC growth means move into building on Bighorn Drive

Coral LLC, a manufacturer of coral mineral products for the agriculture, water and health supplement fields, is moving into a Carson City building it purchased recently.

Alberto Galdamez, Coral sales director, said the firm bought the building at 5576 Bighorn Drive and was moving the company headquarters into it this week from rented space it had in Mound House the past five years. The structure purchased is 7,000 to 7,500 square feet.

Galdamez said the firm, which began in 1994 under a different name, was in Incline Village until it moved to the Carson City/Mound House rental space in 2008. He and Clint DeWitt, company president, said the firm is growing, and the purchase will give the headquarters on Bighorn Drive the presence the company prefers. Bighorn is off Deer Run Road.

The previous rental space was a bit larger, Galdamez said, but so much warehouse space was unnecessary and the purchase for more headquarters office space made sense as the firm grows. The firm employs eight people here. DeWitt offered similar remarks.

“With our continued growth, the efficiency and extra space provided by our new location is essential,” DeWitt said.

Galdamez, meanwhile, said the firm uses other facilities elsewhere in the nation to do processing work and ships directly from those locations.

He said markets for above-sea coral mineral uses have expanded and the firm took advantage, growing from primarily offering coral calcium health supplements into providing products for agricultural uses, water and water filtration, or other fields.

An eco-friendly harvesting process is used to secure Caribbean “above-sea” coral; the company is an importer-supplier developing mineral products for the various uses.

“We only use above-sea ECOSAFE coral minerals, which are not subjected to underwater or industrial pollution,” the company’s website says. It also says the firm supplies coral minerals in more than 30 countries.

Galdamez said the firm supplies ingredients for others making supplements, makes products for dissemination under private label, and markets its own lines.

Some Coral LLC products include finished items such as Coral Complex 3, Daily D, Cal-Mag 2:1 Coral Complex, Coral White Toothpaste, Coral Mineral Sachets, Cinnamon 6, and Coral Joint & Collagen Support.

The move this week was from 38 Diamond Back Way in Mound House, which has a Carson City mailing address. Checking with the real estate website Zillow determined the building on Bighorn into which Coral LLC is moving sold May 16 for $477,000.
