Youth Theatre workshops

Youth Theatre Carson City will hold a series of workshops about theater fundamentals Tuesday through Thursday at the Bob Boldrick Theater at the Carson City Community Center. Following is a schedule of workshops:

• Hair and Makeup For Theater will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

• Introduction to Technical Theater will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

• Introduction to Theater for children in grades K-5 will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday.

• Advanced Acting Techniques for grades 6-12 will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

• Auditioning for a Musical for beginners will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

• Advanced Auditioning for a Musical: Landing the Role will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday.

Youth auditions set

Youth Theatre Carson City will hold auditions for children in grades K-12 for “Once On This Island Jr.” June 15 at the Carson City Community Center.

The show is a Caribbean adaptation of the fairy tale “The Little Mermaid.” Participants are asked to sing a minute-long song-and-dance combination. Tuition is $100 per child, and scholarships are available.
